The Moriya Restoration
A downloadable book
An everlasting secluded small land was just about to enter a cultural revolution...
The Moriya family is thinking of a new plan to try to expand their influence across every corner of Gensokyo.
It's quite easy and logic if you think about it for a second: if humans could reach the Moriya Shrine in less time, then there would be more people willing to visit us, and more people means, of course, more faith. And what better means of transporting people around than the railcar, that has been all around the place in Japan for some time!
By the way, speaking of railcars, did you know that vintage railcars are becoming the latest trend in the Outside World? You have the Botchan train in Matsuyama, the Haikara-gou in Hakoda- hey, Suwako-sama! please! don't pull me, I'm not done yet-
A story greatly inspired by Saka no Ue no Kumo (The Clouds over the Hill), by Ryotaro Shiba, and the works of Shunzo Miyawaki. Also, the first chapter is a direct(-ish) translation of the opening from the TV adaptation of Saka no Ue no Kumo (adapted as Gensokyo was not affected by the Meiji Restoration).
Note- this is a work in progress! As such, some chapters may be incomplete or completely missing from the story. (Expect them to be finished in about 3 or 4 days.)
Note 2- as English is not my native language, there might be some typos / grammar errors so feel free to make a list of report them if you find some!

What an interesting read! You have a very strong grasp on writing descriptive scenes. I find myself lost with a lot of historical Japan namedrops, but it might be to enhance the Moriya shrine's eccentricities compared to Gensokyo. Good job!
